30 People killed in northern Nigeria triple suicide attack

At least 30 people were killed and more than 80 others injured in a triple suicide attack Tuesday in the town of Mandarari, in Nigeria's Borno State, according to civilian vigilantes fighting Boko Haram Islamists in the area. Three female suicide bombers detonated their explosive belts in a local market and outside a nearby camp for people displaced by Boko Haram violence. "The first bomber struck outside the IDP (internally displaced persons) camp overlooking the market around 6 p.m. local time (1 p.m. ET) hitting some people and causing confusion as people tried to flee," civilian vigilante Bukar Kyari said. While traders were trying to close their shops and evacuate their wares, two female bombers hit the market "almost simultaneously," said another civilian vigilante, Usman Grema. The attacks happened on a weekly market day when people from the town and nearby villages flood the market to buy and sell food, clothing and livestock. Twenty-eight peopl...

Oduduwas Also Needs Freedom; Too late for restructuring (Yoruba group Proclaims)

A Yoruba group, Yoruba Liberation Command (YOLICOM) has said that it is too late for the restructuring of Nigeria, saying what the South-Western Yoruba region needs now is Oduduwa republic. The group, in a release at the World Press Conference held at International Press Centre, (IPC) Ogba, Lagos said Nigeria has failed to solve the challenges of peaceful co-existence and that politicians are rather in government for their selfish benefits. The group said it is in support of the Nnamdi Kanu-led Indigenous People of Biafra for self actualization irrespective of whatever hate speech he has been accused of. It said it wants an end to marginalization of some regions in the country and sought for a relation with the Biafra nation by the Oduduwa republic. It also called on the Federal Government to maintain the international laws and allow the Igbo nation to go and form their Biafra nation. The group condemned the call for restructuring, saying it is a ploy by the ruling government to ...

We will join agitators to fight Nigeria with missiles – Militants Says

Niger Delta militant group, Adaka Boro Avengers, ABA, has declared that it would join hands with Biafra agitators to fight Nigeria with missiles and chemical weapons. In a statement by its spokesperson, Edmos Ayayeibo, ABA, called Nigeria “a failed state”. The separatist group also called on Pan-Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, led by Ijaw leader, Edwin Clark, to stay away from all matters of the Niger Delta. According to ABA, “Why would the Arewa youths and some northerners call for re-arrest of Nnamdi Kanu knowing what the implications would be. That is not possible and the Nigerian government will never dare it again. “The Federal Government does not recognize you people (Ijaw leaders); and we will no longer listen to you. We thank you for your efforts, especially to Papa E. K. Clark, King Alfred Diete-Spiff and Victor Attah. “This is because we have seen Nigeria as a failed state. We, Niger Deltans respect you people; save your energy; we will need you people in our country. “To the...
